And there we are again. Hello nice people!!
Thanks for all your kind words regarding Belzi. We enjoy knowing lots of you are careful about Belzi and all other dogs in need!
Belzi is doing very great. He likes to go out, he likes to play and he likes going to known places and people.
On the other hand he still has to learn. Like his hunger for hunting is hard to handle for us. He doesn't like little children playing around and he's not very ken on horses. Also he's a bit hard to walk with a leash (Belzi likes to pull you around). So we are constantly awake and giving Belzi confidence in these aspects. And we are proud to see progression.
Fortunately he likes to have a treat, he's listening very well (in Dutch!) and likes to play, so these are handy for training!
The first weeks we just let Belzi do his things avoiding problems. Now, step by step, with problems we help him to deal with them. and Belzi is doing great!
Everybody likes the dog! And we the most!! He's a family-member already...
Here are some new pictures. You can see he's also not on a leash. That however is sometimes hard; he went away from us for minutes, leaving us wandering if he's going to come back. Belzi is not responding to our calling or
whistle then, so now we let him from the line just now and then and only when he's not to enthusiastic and hunting for birds etc. With our voice we never let him go far now.
But he's enjoying everything then. Just like running next to our bikes:

Re: Belzi wird zum Pechvogel!
How good to hear about Belzi.
Between the lines of your report it is obvious that you love this dog. Some of them need more time than others to come home.
Thanks very much that you give him the time that he needs.
Many regards,
Christina Ostermeier and Vilas

Re: Belzi wird zum Pechvogel!
Hello everybody…
We thought a little update about Belzi would be nice.
Still he has some behavioural problems, but they are manageable and getting less important.
He doesn’t like some situations were he is not free to go where he chooses. We think it is just fear that will make him bark and express himself aggressive. Like in small corrodors and elevators.
On the other hand we are making progress to deal with these problems and also in staying with us when he’s not on a leash. This is quite hard because he likes to hunt for everything that moves!
He’s such a very nice dog and everyday he’s a joy having around.
Last weekend he went with us to Belgium for his first part of walking the GR5. This is a European walking trail from Hoek van Holland to Nice. It crosses some of the nicest part of Europe, like the Vosges, the Jura and the Alps. Last years we succeeded with different parts of it (Vosges and the first part from Hoek van Holland to Belgium). Last Saturday Belzi joined us walking his first part of it. Our goal is to walk lots of the trail with Belzi in the future and maybe one day all the way to the Mediterranean sea next to Nice.
That was Saturday, Sunday we went to Noordwijk for a nice, long walk on the beach.
Lots of nice sunny dogwalkingdays for you too… Rita, Vincent and Belzi.
